Marcus Hopson (born July 18, 1985), better known by his stage name Hopsin, is an American rapper, music video director, hip hop producer, singer and actor from Los Angeles, California. Hopsin has gained high popularity on YouTube, where many of his songs accompanied with music videos are uploaded, most remarkably "Sag My Pants", uploaded in October 2010, and "Ill Mind of Hopsin 4", uploaded in July 2011, both with over 16 million views (as of September 2012). On July 18, 2012, his 27th birthday, he released "Ill Mind of Hopsin 5", which has received over 10 million views within a month. In 2007, he was signed to deceased rapper Eazy-E's record label Ruthless Records,[1] and has since founded his own record label Funk Volume in 2009.[2] Hopsin has released two studio albums along with a mixtape; the debut album Gazing At The Moonlight through Ruthless Records, and Raw and Haywire (featuring SwizZz) through Funk Volume.

While other folk metal bands began with metal before adding folk music, Korpiklaani started with folk music before turning metal.[1] The roots of Korpiklaani can be traced back to a Sami folk music group under the name of Shamaani Duo,[2] an "in house restaurant band" created by Jonne Järvelä in 1993.[3] An album of folk music (Hunka Lunka) was released under this name before Järvelä relocated and formed a new band Shaman.[4] The folk metal act Shaman was based on the folk music of Shamaani Duo.[5] Two albums were released in 1999 and 2001 before Shaman changed their name to Korpiklaani.[4] The change in name was accompanied by a change in the music. The traditional yoik vocals and the use of the Sámi language were dropped while the synthesizer was replaced with real folk instruments.[6] Jonne Järvelä credits his work with Finntroll as the catalyst for the shift in emphasis from folk to metal.[7] Their song lyrics are often related to alcohol and partying.

Kamelot is an American metal band from Tampa, Florida, formed by Thomas Youngblood and Richard Warner in 1991. The Norwegian vocalist Roy Khan joined for the album Siége Perilous, and shared songwriting credit with Youngblood until his departure in April 2011.
Up to 2010, Kamelot had released nine studio albums (excluding two reissues), two live albums, one live DVD, and seven music videos. Their latest studio album is Poetry for the Poisoned, which was released in September 2010.[1]
